What is RETHINKABLE?
Rethinkable is a unique festival in the heart of Europe, on the border between Italy and Slovenia, that pragmatically addresses issues of economic and social development. Emerging from the community of Northeastern Italy, often overlooked but rich in potential, it creates a laboratory for ideas and solutions that can inspire change across Europe. The festival explores new models to build resilient communities, enhancing the local economy while providing concrete tools to tackle global challenges.
Rethinkable was born in a borderland that has been a crossroads of cultures, languages, and traditions. This mix is its strength: a laboratory for experimenting and rethinking economic and social models that transcend physical and mental barriers. At the heart of Europe, between Gorizia and Nova Gorica, the festival is a space for collaboration and innovation, involving communities, institutions, and businesses, generating concrete solutions to local and global challenges.
Each edition of the festival focuses on a different but closely related theme, maintaining a structure that evolves with the needs of communities and global challenges.
The motto “there is no more time,” which resonates particularly among younger generations, brings attention to the urgency of changing paradigms and practices in development models. Culture must therefore be accompanied by practical action: in this direction, the festival aims to generate new ways of disseminating culture that center on dialogue, sharing, and promoting active citizenship practices.
Rethinkable is a space for meeting, discussion, and collective growth, both for encountering experiences that have already embarked on a different socioeconomic model and for imagining and designing new paths and initiatives!
A project rooted in the local community, but with a global vision: invest in a development model that combines inclusion and innovation.
