Regional Law 4/2017 establishes the legal framework for supporting solidarity-based economic processes.
In particular, the law creates and recognises local communities as key players in the solidarity economy (ESol) through the establishment of community assemblies organised on a territorial basis.
The community assembly thus becomes a new institution where citizens of a territory are invited to reflect on the economic model and propose initiatives in line with the principles of the solidarity economy.
The law defines the system of local supply chains in the areas of food, clothing, housing, and services, and outlines solidarity enterprises and agreements as tools to build new economic systems that connect communities with their territories.
The law also funded solidarity economy days that took place in several cities in the region.
